Designing the floral arrangements for Aidan and Kayla’s wedding was both challenging and rewarding. Kayla envisioned a bouquet with Calla Lilies and Limonium, complemented by Aidan’s boutonniere using the same flowers. For the centerpieces, I used a combination of Silver Dollar Eucalyptus, Baby Blue Eucalyptus, white Cremon Mums, Baby’s Breath, White Carnations, and White Ranunculus. The setup was extensive, involving freshly cutting and arranging the flowers either the day before or on the wedding day itself. The process was a long one, but the results were absolutely worth the effort.
I crafted Kayla’s bouquet the night before the wedding, ensuring each flower was perfectly placed. Handing it to her the next day, I watched as she walked down the aisle, and the bouquet fit her radiance perfectly, creating a beautiful and cohesive look for the ceremony. Seeing her smile as she held it was one of the most rewarding moments of the day.
During dinner, the large centerpieces stretched beautifully across the tables, adding a fresh elegance to the venue. As guests enjoyed their meals and celebrated, I could feel the flowers setting the tone of warmth, connection, and joy throughout the room. The flowers not only enhanced the aesthetic but also brought an undeniable sense of life to the celebration.
This wedding taught me the importance of preparation—understanding the flower choices and ensuring the design is both beautiful and practical is crucial. Patience was key when creating large pieces for the tables. Most importantly, this experience further fueled my passion for floral design and solidified my decision to build a floral business.
